Light of Foot supports projects that help increase access to sport and education for young people, and raise funds for good causes.
In the early days of COVID 19, we supported the OSCAR Foundation's campaign to feed vulnerable families living in Mumbai. Our online classes raised funds to feed over 100 families for one month.
In 2018, we raised funds to help Women is a Nation (WIN) to buy essential equipment for a free school for girls located in Lyari, Pakistan.
In early 2024, we started running football sessions for refugees and asylum seekers living in Margate.
We now have around 20 participants attending the weekly sessions. The team selected the name Margate Phoenix FC representing a new beginning that they hope to achieve in the UK.
Through a love for running, Derek has raised thousands of pounds for charities and good causes including Heart Research UK, the Alzheimer’s Society, Pilgrims Hospice and the British Heart Foundation
